At the minimum, you will need a comfortable chair, desk and a filing cabinet to store all documents related to your work.
You will also need a fast Internet connection and a phone dedicated for your VA project only. You can think of a separate smart phone for rather than using your personal mobile phone
Do you have the right talents, skills, and characteristics?
Do you have any special skill-set that sets you apart from the rest? Are you good at blogging, social media or how good are you at creating presentations?
Are you a person who can work on a deadline? Are you self-motivated and can get things done on your own. Can you follow instructions well and are you comfortable with working alone?
How business minded are You?
Are you comfortable in marketing yourself?
Initially, you will have to look for clients. You may also have to attend interviews either in person if your employer is close to you or via Skype or Google Hangout or Google Duo.
Can you do a quick elevator speech to describe what is your skills, what you can offer a prospective client? If not, write one and start practicing it until you can say it easily.
There are a number of things to consider when making the decision to start working from home as VA. Having realistic expectations and understanding is the first. Think of the impact that working as VA from home in your life. This will help you start moving closer to making up your mind as to whether becoming a VA is right for you.
